MRS. BERTHA NELMS 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Poulson Nelms, of Route 3, Suffolk, who 
died Sunday morning at the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, were held yesterday 
afternoon at 4 o'clock at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home. 

  The Rev. R.H. Forrester, pastor of the Main Street Methodist Church, 
conducted the services and read the poem "Crossing the Bar."  Miss Ann Nelson, 
accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Claudia Jacobs sang "Sunrise." 

  The pall was of red roses, Easter lilies, white carnations and baby’s 
breath.  Pallbearers were Willie Hedgebeth, H.M. Williams, Wilton Davidson, 
Herman Lowe, Alfred and Earl Russell, Whit Mumford, and Ocie Russell. 

  Interment took place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
