Nelms died at his home 114 Oaklawn Street, Tuesday morning at 3:40 o'clock after an illness of several weeks, aged 74 years. Besides his widow, Mrs. Lulie Nelms, he is survived by two daughters, Miss Bertha Nelms, and Mrs. R.A. Odom, both of Suffolk; four sons, Leon Nelms, of Ocean View, Va.; Leslie, Ray and Horace Nelms, of Suffolk, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence 114 Oaklawn street, conducted by the Rev. H. J. Goodwin. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery.
