W.* Nelms Dies of Heart Attack in Car SUFFOLK - Robert Webb Nelms, 67, assistant manager of Old Dominion Peanut Corp., died Friday afternoon when he suffered a heart attack while driving his car on Cedar Street. His southbound automobile left the left-hand side of the street, went between two trees and a utility pole and struck the porch at 204 Cedar St. about 1:50 p.m. Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad members tried to revive him with artificial respiration. Heart Attack Dr. Robert W. Fry, acting Suffolk medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes - probably a heart attack. Nelms, a resident of 1013 Virginia Ave., had been employed by Old Dominion for may years. He was a member of Main Street Methodist Church, McLemore Bible Class, and the Suffolk Elks Lodge and was a former Cub Scout commissioner. Survivors A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of McKim Nelms and Mrs. Wortley [sic; Vertley] Bartlett Nelms. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Erma Pritchard Nelms; a son, Robert Webb Nelms, Jr. of Portsmouth; a brother, M.C. Nelms Jr. of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. H.F. Saunders and Mrs. D.H. Stassfort of Norfolk, Mrs. J.H. Gwaltney of Windsor and Mrs. Marvin L. Vaughan of Suffolk; and a grandson, Robert William Nelms of Portsmouth. A funeral service will be conducted in Baker Funeral Home Sunday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Hampden H. Smith of Main Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Elk rites at the graveside. *typo in original heading gave, "R. A.
