All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Funeral Tomorrow For Ernest Nelms Funeral services for Ernest Roland Nelms, 46, of Windsor, who died suddenly of a heart attack in Winchester yesterday at 5:30 p.m., will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home. A native of Isle of Wight County, Mr. Nelms had spent practically all of his life in the vicinity of Windsor. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church, the Men's Bible Class, and the Windsor Ruritan Club. He was son of the late Ernest Langley and Nannie Archer Nelms of Isle of Wight. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Lawrence Nelms, and stepmother, Mrs. Essie Nelms, a sister, Mrs. Earl Manning, of Portsmouth, three brothers, Curtis Russell and Robert Langley Nelms, of Windsor, William Everett Nelms, of Suffolk, four uncles, one aunt and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will arrive today at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill [sic*] Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held For Ernest R. Nelms Funeral service for Ernest Roland Nelms, of Windsor, who died suddenly of a heart attack Monday in Winchester, were conducted yesterday at 3 p.m. at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Ellis Clark, the Rev. T. Fred Wright, of Henderson, N.C., and the Rev. B.A. Riddle. Mrs. Webb Pinner played softly on the organ during the service. The pall was of red roses, white gladioli, lavender asters, lilies and baby's breath. Pall bearers were H.E. Pierce, J.H. Godwin, W.E. Garrison, Jr., L.R. Bracey, C.A. Bracey, J.M. Ritter, Howard Ritter and Rodham T. Delk. Members of Antioch Christian Church and friends of the family served as honorary pall bearers. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
