July 11 - The funeral of Mrs. Amelia Louise Norfleet, the beloved wife of Mr. John B. Norfleet, took place this afternoon from St. Paul’s P.E. Church here at 5:30 o’clock. The service was conducted by Rev. J.B. Dunn, the rector of the above church, of which Mrs. Norfleet was a consistent member, assisted by her former pastor, Rev. J.B. Funsten, of Trinity Church, Portsmouth, and Rev. W.W. Staley, D.D., of the Christian Church here. Mrs. Norfleet’s remains arrived here this morning via the S.A.L. and after the funeral services at the church were taken to Cedar Hill Cemetery and laid to rest as the shades of evening were settling over that quiet, lovely spot to await the resurrection of the last great day. The following gentlemen were the pallbearers for the occasion: W.H. Jones, Jr., Dr. J.P. Whidbee, J.Happer Stewart, Ned Quimby, W.E. Hines, W.E. Kitchen, R.I. Stultz and MacRae Meakin.
