Norfleet Dies At Home Here Mrs. Iulah [sic; Julia] Norfleet, widow of the late J.T. Norfleet, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Barber, 118 North street, Monday at 10:50 p.m., after a long, illness, age 75 years. Mrs. Norfleet is survived by four daughters and one son: Mrs. Arthur Harris, Franklin, Mrs. L.T. Pope, Mrs. Edd Griggs, and Mrs. William Barber, of Suffolk, and L.T. Norfleet, of Nansemond county, also twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J.H. Byrd, Suffolk, and Mrs. J.T. Whitney, of Norfolk; two brothers, W.J. Pierce and J.T. Pierce, both of Nansemond county, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Bethlehem Christian church, conducted by Rev. R.E. Brittle, Rev. John G. Truitt and Rev. H.S. Hardcastle. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** JULIA A. PIERCE NORFLEET Suffolk - Nov. 28 - Funeral services for Mrs. Julia A. Norfleet were held this afternoon at 3 o’clock at Bethlehem Christian Church conducted by Rev. R.E. Brittle and Rev. H.S. Hardcastle. The members of the church choir, accompanied by Miss Mary Jones, sang "In the Garden," "Going Down the Valley" and "The Old Rugged Cross." There were many floral tributes, the casket was covered with a pall of lilies and ferns. Active pallbearers: Dalton Norfleet, Ovid Byrd, Hyke Luke, Sug Pierce, Clarence Griggs, Felton Pierce, Herman Pierce, Horace Pierce. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
