McNurney died Tuesday night, June 30th at 12 o'clock at the home of his son J.T. McNurney at Smithfield [sic*] after a brief illness. He was 69 years old and a native of Surry County. He is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Lena Christian, of Richmond; Mrs. N.S. Nurney, of Alquippa, Pa.; Mrs. Nick Pitman, of Marion, S.C.; Mrs. T. Falkner of Henderson, N.C.; Miss Virginia Dare McNurney, of Elberon; Mrs. Madeline Hargrave of Smithfield; and three sons: J.W. McNurney and A.R. McNurney, of Richmond, and J.T. McNurney, of Smithfield. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren. Funeral arrangements had not been made up to the time the paper went to press. James H.
