Special to The Landmark. Suffolk, Va., November 16. - Mr. A.W. Oliver died this morning at 4:20 o'clock at his residence, in the county, of typho-pneumonia, aged 56 years. Only last Saturday his wife was laid to rest, she having died the day before of the same fatal malady. Mr. Oliver was a gallant soldier in the Lost Cause, and a beloved and honored member of Mahone's brigade. He was also a member of Tom Smith Camp, C.V., and was beloved by his comrades, and, in fact, by everyone else who knew him. A man of excellent character, a true Christian and the best of neighbors, he will be greatly missed and his death sadly mourned by a large number of citizens outside of his great circle of relatives. The children, relatives and neighbors have our sincere sympathy in this, their sad affliction. The funeral will take place from the Main Street M.E. Church here at 2 o'clock to-morrow (Thursday) afternoon. Tom Smith Camp, C.V., will accompany the remains to the church and cemetery, and a detachment from the camp will act as pall-bearers.
