Brinkley, dealer in used cars and automobile parts, died today at 8:30 a.m. in Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond, after a long illness. A former employee of the Virginia Department of Highways, Mr. Oliver was a member of Magnolia Methodist Church. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Floyd A. Oliver and Julia Nelms Oliver of Nanaemond County. He is survived by three aunts, Mrs. D.K. Sawyer of Columbia, N.C., and Mrs. Mertie Copeland and Mrs. Judie Davis of Portsmouth, and two uncles, J.W. Nelms of Driver and W.H. Nelms of Princess Anne County. The body was taken to the Baker Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements. His mother (1891 - 1941) is marked there, but her D.Cert. states was buried at Providence Church, where her parents were buried.
