He is survived by his mother and five sisters: Mrs. T.E. Pruden, Miss Lucy Oliver, both of Nansemond; Mrs. J.A. Pruden, and Mrs. Walton Butler of Suffolk; and Mrs. T.B. Thompson of Petersburg; a brother, James Whitley Oliver, of Nansemond county; four aunts, Mrs. J.D. Luke, Mrs. Lula Smith, and Mrs. Effie Jackson of Suffolk; and Mrs. Mollie Sullivan of Crittenden; four uncles, Sam and Andrew Oliver of Nansemond county; Paul Harrell and Crawley Harrell of Nansemond county, and several nieces and nephews. The body will be brought to the funeral home of R.W. Baker & Co., here tonight. Alexander was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry.
