All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM EDWARD OLIVER Suffolk, Va., July 31 - William Edward Oliver, an old and highly esteemed citizen of this city, died this afternoon at his home in Main Street in the sixty-eighth year of his age. Mr. Oliver is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jeannette Oliver; two sons, Jasper Oliver and Edward Oliver; one daughter, Mrs. Lemuel Norfleet; one sister, Mrs. Media Anne Pruden, and nine grandchildren. Mr. Oliver was a member of Main Street M.E. Church, and a man of lovable character, with a wide circle of friends. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the home, 233 Main Street, at 4:30 o’clock, conducted by Mr. Winn. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery. William Edward OLIVER, carpenter, d. 31 Jul 1920, at home, Suffolk, age 68, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block A, Lot 13*), Suffolk, donated obit, publication unknown *His parents, James E. & Marcellia P. OLIVER OLIVER, are buried in Block C, Lot 97.
