Owens Passes Away After a Useful Life in the Baptist Ministry. WINDSOR, VA., April 15.-[Special.]-Many hearts, no doubt, scattered all over Virginia and North Carolina will be sad to know that Rev. R.R. Owens is dead. He died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock. For more than forty years he has labored earnestly and well, and now in his declining years he falls upon his post of duty, rich in labors for the Lord, and in triumphs of the Gospel he so much delighted to preach. He was an earnest, fearless, able Baptist preacher, and in his death the denomination sustains a serious loss. He was popular and his pastorates ran through long terms of years. He was the pastor of two churches at the time of his death, at one of which, Western Branch, his funeral took place this evening. Rev. J.F. Deans conducted the services. Mr. Owens leaves a wife and a large and interesting family of children, all of whom were with him when he died, except Mrs. Parker, of Franklin and Carson, who arrived to-day from Glade Spring. Miss Pokey Bain, of Wakefield, is visiting the Misses Briggs of this place. Mrs. J.C. Crumpler is suffering with a severe attack of la grippe. Rev.
