The officiating ministers are to be Dr. H.S. Hardcastle, Dr. N.G. Newman, Sr., and Dr. I.W. Johnson. The body is to lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 o'clock. Burial is to follow in the church cemetery. Birthdate from Isle of Wight Co. B.Reg. 1858 p. 35, #20). D.Cert. 5259 (Portsmouth #157) gives b. 2 Nov 1858, daughter of Mills E. & Catherine (PRUDEN) GODWIN. Her husband (1854 - 1907) left will Aug 1906, proved 20 Jun 1907. (Nansemond Co. WB6:565) Her father (1823 - 1903) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. E, 9th VA Infantry. He 1m. Mary L. PRUDEN 19 Dec 1846 in Isle of Wight Co. H. 2m. Caroline M. WYATT 13 May 1869 in Nansemond Co. (#31) He is buried in a GODWIN family cemetery in Orbit.
