Leroy Pope Jr., 71, of the 7100 block of Crittenden Road, a retired chemical company supervisor, died April 2, 1990, in his home. Mr. Pope, a native of Suffolk, had retired from E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. He was a member of Oakland Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Leroy Pope III of Suffolk, Willis W. Pope of Chester, and James E. Pope of Richmond; a sister, Wilma Spady of Rescue; and six grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Newman Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. David Wilson. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. today at 7105 Crittenden Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Newman Memorial Cemetery, c/o Oakland Christian Church. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
