Clyde Powell Succumbs at 55 Livious Clyde Powell Sr., 55, owner of the L.C. Powell Electric Company here, died Monday at 10 p.m. in Norfolk General Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. H. Raymond Phelts, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hill Funeral Home to the church one hour prior to the funeral. ****************************************************************************** LIVIOUS C. POWELL. SUFFOLK - Funeral services for Livious Clyde Powell, 55, who died Monday night, will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. (EDST) at the Liberty Spring Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Southampton County, Va., he was an electrical contractor here for about 25 years. He had participated in many horse shows in Virginia and North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Whitley Powell; daughter, Mrs. Alton R. Langley of Orange Cove, Calif.; one son, L.C. Powell, Jr., of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Merrill Powell of Boykin, Va. and several grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held For L. Clyde Powell Funeral services for Livious Clyde Powell, Sr., who died Monday, were conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. H. Raymond Phelts, pastor.
