A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of John Pipkin Powell, and daughter of the late Benjamin Cutchin Ellis Sr., and Sallie Eure Ellis. She and her late husband operated The Pastry Shop for 30 years. They had retired in June of 1971. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, its Wesley Bible Class, and Circle No. 1. Survivors include a daughter, Marlene Bryant of Suffolk; two brothers, M. Woodrow Ellis of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. and B.C. Ellis Jr. of Suffolk; and a granddaughter. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. David B. Lewis. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends at 103 St. Anne Ave. Willie Mae (ELLIS; Mrs. J.
