POWELL DIES THURSDAY NIGHT Last Rites Saturday at 3 O'clock, Burial in Cedar Hill William N. Powell, age 69, died Thursday night at 12 o'clock in a Norfolk hospital, after a long illness. He is survived by one son, and four daughters, Joseph H. Powell, of Suffolk, Mrs. Albert Smelson, Miss Laura R. Powell, Mrs. Homer H. Riddle, all of Portsmouth, Mrs. Margaret Brown, of Philadelphia, and five grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Livie Crumpler, of Suffolk, one brother, Mettie Powell, of Nansemond County, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The body was brought to the I.O. Hill and Company funeral home where it will remain until Saturday, when funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock, conducted by Dr. J.G. Truitt, D.D. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery.
