(Special to The Times-Dispatch.) SUFFOLK, VA., April 10. - Mrs. Eliza Phillips, wife of Dr. John E. Phillipps, died about 4 o'clock this morning, after an illness of ten days. She was a daughter of the late State Senator C.H. Causey, and was a member of several women's societies. She was thirty-four years old. She is survived by a widower, one son, four brothers, two sisters and mother. Among her brothers is Captain C.H. Causey, Jr., now of Chicago, who commanded Company F, of the Fourth Virginia Regiment, during the Spanish war. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK. (Special to The Landmark.) Suffolk, Va., April 10. - Mrs. Eliza Causey Phillips, wife of Dr. John E. Phillips, died at her home on Kilby street, Monday morning, April 10th, at 4:35 o'clock. She had been desperately ill for ten days with hemorrhage fever, having been stricken Friday, the 31st of March. Every medical attention that is known was hers during her short illness, there being always several doctors and nurses in attendance, and numbers of solicitous neighbors and friends ready to render any aid possible. In the death of Mrs. Phillips, Suffolk has sustained a great loss. An earnest, active Christian, she was a great help to the poor and afflicted and a worthy member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in whose choir she has sung for years. She was a member of the King's Daughters, and a charter member of the Suffolk Literary Club, the oldest club in Suffolk. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, Dr. John E. Phillips, a stepson to whom she was a devoted mother, John Phillips, an only son, William Phillips, a widowed mother, Mrs. Martha Causey, two sisters, Mrs. George L. Barton, of Suffolk, and Mrs. Spindel Miller, of Christianburg; four brothers, Messrs. William and Harry Causey, of Chicago, and James and Peter Causey, of Suffolk; numerous relatives by marriage and hosts of friends. The funeral services will be conducted from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Joseph B. Dunn, rector, officiating. Eliza Wrenn (CAUSEY; Mrs. John E.)
