Washington Street, died at 6:45 o'clock this morning at DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, after a long illness. In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. G.R. Hoggard, of Port Norfolk; Mrs. H.A. Gire, of Coronado, Calif.; and Misses Mary Turner Carter and Mary Frances Carter, of Suffolk; two sons, William Mills Carter, of Washington, D. C., and James Lewis Carter, of Suffolk; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Eure, and Mrs. Blanche Jones, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Thelma Turner, of Gatesville, N.C., and a brother, Jack Turner, of Kansas City, Mo. The body was taken to the Hill Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. ****************************************************************************** Conduct Rites For Mrs. Poulos Funeral services for Mrs. William Poulos, who died Saturday at the DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, after a long illness, were held at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Main Street Methodist Church. Rev. John Blakemore, pastor, officiated. Paul Van Valkenburgh, accompanied by Mrs. Julian Goodwin, sang "In the Garden." The pall was of red roses. Pallbearers were Thomas L. Woodward, Ray Sexton, Robert Kinsey, Tom Daughtrey, Dr. C. H. Dawson, John E. Tustin, Dr. Charles Steele, and R.S. Stone. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (FaG Cemetery ID: 2780706) Lessie 1m. William Mills CARTER 4 Dec 1912 at Eason's Crossroads, Gates Co., NC. He ("1884" [1876] - 1935) was buried in Gates Co., NC. Mary Lessie 2m. William Peter "PULLOS" 9 Sep 1936. (Norfolk #805) "Peter POULOS, Sr." (1893 Greece - 1960) is buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Newport News. Pete's obit appeared in the "Daily Press," Nov. 15, 1960.
