PIERCE BURIED FRIDAY IN SUFFOLK CEMET'RY Mrs. Delia Florence Pierce, 88, died December 29th at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. R.M. Yates at Magnolia after a long illness. She is survived by six grandchildren: Mrs. R.M. Yates of Magnolia; Mrs. O.L. Weiss of Portsmouth; John Wilton Mims of Norfolk; William M. Mims of Montpelier, Vt.; Mrs. Lucille Anderton of Gloucester, and Mrs. Paul Bloxom of Battery Park; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at R.W. Baker Funeral Home in Suffolk with the Rev. John Blakemore, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church, officiating. The 1880 Census (Clayton Twp., Johnston Co., NC) gives Monroe Pearce, age 27. The 1900 Census (Raleigh, Wake Co., NC) gives Delia Pierce, widowed, with 2 of 3 children surviving.
