Thomas L. Pierce Buried Yesterday 

  Funeral services for Thomas Lassiter Pierce were conducted Thursday 
afternoon at the funeral home of I.O. Hill & Company by the Rev. Dr. I.W. 
Johnson, the Rev. W.H. Clark, and the Rev. Dr. C. Rexford Raymond. 

  Mrs. Ralph O'Berry, Mrs. W.H. Clark, William Spivey and B.H. Brown, 
accompanied by Mrs. I.W. Johnson, sang "Sometime We'll Understand," and 
"Safe In The Arm of Jesus."  Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Clark sang as a duet 
"Haven of Rest." 

  There were many handsome floral tributes, and the casket was covered with 
a pall of Easter lilies and pink carnations. 

  Active pallbearers were Otho and Eugene Pierce, Johu Russell, Hugh Rice, 
Elisha Bunch, William Ogle, Lewis Brinkley, Walter Carter. 

  Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

   a family burial ground at Sunbury, Gates Co., NC.  Find a Grave 
   Memorial #189446757 lists his father in Sunbury Cemetery. 

Lassiter & "Nannie" Nancy Caroline PIERCE, daughter of William K. & Diana 
   (BLANCHARD) PIERCE, m. 18 Feb 1906 in Gates Co., NC. 

His widow's D.Cert. 78-011211 gives buried in Olive Branch Cemetery, 
   Portsmouth.
