Goodwin assisted by William J. Work. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A pall of fern and white carnation covered the casket. Mrs. Claudia Jacobs and Mr. Work, accompanied by Mrs. Work, sang "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "God Will Take of You." Active pallbearers were L.B. Butler, W.C. Bradshaw, J.W. Ward, B.F. Jernigan, C.S. Johnson, J.W. Goodrich, L.H. Cathey and C.L. Rountree. Friends and neighbors served as honorary pallbearers. Martha Jane (McCLENNY; Mrs. James R.)
