PIERCE Mrs. Sallie A. Pierce, age 67 years, wife of Frank C. Pierce, well known and esteemed, died yesterday evening at the family residence, 611 Liberty Street, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Pierce was a native of Isle of Wight County, Va., where she lived until 29 years ago when she became a resident of this city. She was a daughter of the late H.C.* and Nancy Seeds Darden, and in addition to her husband is survived by three daughters, Mrs. James Harlow, Mrs. R.L. Beal and Mrs. H.A. Bates of Nashville, Tenn., and four sisters, Mrs. W.N. Pierce of Isle of Wight, Mrs. L.C. Vaughan of Portsmouth, Mrs. Julia Clayton of Suffolk, Mrs. William Lassiter of Nansemond County and two brothers, J.M. Darden of Suffolk, and Alfred Darden of Norfolk. The funeral services will be conducted at the above residence Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia cemetery. Sallie A. (DARDEN; Mrs. Frank C.) PIERCE, b. The 1850 Census gives Henry C.H. Darden. (E. Dist., Isle of Wight Co.) He is buried in a DARDEN family cemetery, on Orbit Rd.; his gravestone gives CHAS. H. DARDEN. Isle of Wight Co.
