Parker, member of Nansemond Board of Supervisors, and widely known farmer of Nansemond County, were conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at Cypress Chapel Christian Church in which Mr. Parker had held membership for more than half a century. The rites were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R.E. Brittle, and the Rev. J.M. Roberts. Active pallbearers were Supervisors V.G. Eberwine, M.E. Godwin, P. Owen Parker and J.R. Holland; County Clerk John Henry Powell, Commonwealth’s Attorney Charles P. Godwin, Jr., Sheriff J. Frank Culpepper and County Treasurer J.P. Dalton. Members of the Suffolk City Councill and other Nansemond County officials served as honorary pallbearers.
