Suffolk, Va., June 11. - Within less than two hours after being stricken with a congestive chill, Junius T. Parker, a well-known business man and former councilman of Suffolk, died at 12:40 Sunday morning at his residence, Washington and Lee streets. The deceased had been unwell two or three days, but his condition was not regarded as serious, and the news of his death was a shock and surprise to the community. The funeral will be conducted from the Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The pastor, Dr. W.W. Staley, will officiate. The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows, Elks, Pythians and Woodmen of the World. The first three orders named will attend the obsequies in a body. The deceased moved to Suffolk about 15 years ago from Gates county, N.C., and has since been active in business affairs. At the time of his death he was proprietor of livery and sales stables and was a stockholder in the Farmers' supply company. Mr. Parker is survived by his widow, who was Miss Hortence Harrell; two children, Irene and Richard E. Parker; his mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Parker, and four sisters, Mrs. Benjamin L. Saunders, of Suffolk; Mrs. George C. Brooks, of Sunsbury, N.C.; Mrs. Frank L. Nicholson, of Norfolk, and Miss Minnie Parker, of Suffolk. Pallbearers: Active - Colonel E.E. Holland, A. Woolford, G.W. Nurney, S.E. Everett, O.D. Smith, J.C. Bell, F.E. Parker and James Crocker. Honorary - G.W. Truitt, J.L. Gay, Dr. J.M. Gibson, R. Edward Norfleet, George T. Parker, F.T. Jones, H.M. Butler and A. Stallings. ****************************************************************************** FUNERAL OF J. T. PARKER. Suffolk Bureau. Suffolk, Va., June 12. - The funeral of the late Junius T. Parker took place at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Christian church. The Elks, Pythians and Odd Fellows attended in bodies. The services were conducted by the pastor, Dr. W.W. Staley, who was assisted by Rev. Joseph B. Dunn, Rev. G. Wilbur Shipley, Rev. W. Mosby Seay, Rev. H.H. Butler and Rev. I.W. Johnson. The floral offerings were pretty and profuse. The interment was in Cedar Hill, where each of the orders named had part in the burial service. The funeral of Bruce, the 5-months-old infant of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Brinkley, was conducted this afternoon from the residence. Junius T.
