A native of Somerton, Nansemond County, he was the husband of Mrs. Grace Jordan Parker and a son of George Thomas and Mrs. Sarah Langston Parker. He was the president of the raw peanuts department of Planters Nut and Chocolate Co., now Standard Brands. He worked for the company 46 years. He was a member of Oxford Methodist Church and a former choir member. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ann Parker White, and a sister, Mrs. Telie Parker Ballard, both of Suffolk; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; and three step-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. G.H. Beville. The funeral procession will leave R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home at 1:50.
