PRETLOW FUNERAL SCHEDULED WEDNESDAY SUFFOLK - Funeral arrangements have been made for Mrs. Katherine Beverly Holladay Pretlow, 97, a former cultural, civic and church leader, who died Monday in her home at 310 Bank St. Miss Katie, as she was known, was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and all its organizations, a charter member of Nansemond River Garden Club and Suffolk Women’s Club. She was also a member of Constantia Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Suffolk Chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy and Colonial Dames of America, Commonwealth of Virginia. A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of Dr. Robert Henley Pretlow and a daughter of Alto and Mrs. Beverly Copeland Holladay. She was educated at Mrs. Quinby’s School of Girls, where she and five others assisted in the organization of the Suffolk Literary Club, the oldest of its type here. Surviving are three nephews, John C. Holladay, Jr. and Dr. Beverly L. Holladay of Suffolk and Francis D. Holladay of Norfolk. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
