(THOMAS J.) PRUDEN DIES AT AGE 77 SUCCUMBS TO BRIEF ILLNESS THIS MORNING AT RESIDENCE ON NORTH STREET; FUNERAL TOMORROW AFTERNOON Mrs. Media Virginia Oliver Pruden, widow of Thomas J. Pruden, died at her home at 112 North Street at 9 a.m. today. Mrs. Pruden was 77 years of age. Death culminated a short illness. Mrs. Pruden is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. W.S. Powell, of Magnolia, Mrs. Irving Johnson, Mrs. Frank Gurley, Mrs. John B. Vaughan, Miss Lillie Pruden, all of Suffolk; Mrs. C.R. Six, of Richlands, and Mrs. Talmadge Hobbs, of Newport News; also nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock, with the Rev. J.S. Wallace, pastor of Providence M.E. Church, in which Mrs. Pruden has held membership since early girlhood, in charge. Burial will be made at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Media Virginia (OLIVER; Mrs. Thomas J.)
