MARY ADELAINE ARCHER REDD PRUDEN

   Mrs. Mary Pruden, widow of Mr. Mills Pruden, died at her home near Kilby, 
on Monday January 14th.  Funeral services were conducted at Bethlehem Church 
and burial was in the church cemetery.  For the past year she made her home 
with her granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Smith.  She was a faithful member of 
Bethlehem Christian Church.

      MRS. MARY A. PRUDEN 

  Suffolk, Jan. 14. - Mrs. Mary A. Pruden, 87, died today at her home near 
Suffolk.  She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Malvina Roberts, of Windsor, 
Va., and Mrs. Jennie Stevenson [sic; Stephenson]; three stepsons, A.C. Pruden 
and Mills Pruden, of Suffolk, and Jesse Pruden, of the county, and a 
stepdaughter, Mrs. Mollie Redd, of the county.  Funeral services will be held 
at Bethlehem Christian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by 
the Rev. H.H. Butler.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

      MRS. MARY A. PRUDEN 

  Suffolk, Jan. 16. - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Pruden were held 
yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Bethlehem Christian Church, conducted 
by the Rev. H.H. Butler, assisted by the Rev. T.E. White. 

  Active pallbearers were W.C. Stephenson, W.J. Joyner, H.T. Taylor, C.J. 
Smith, Percy Pearce, H.N. Williams, J.T. Williams, H.L. Baines.  Burial was in 
the church cemetery.

b. 18 Mar 1838*, Nansemond Co., d. 14 Jan 1924, at home, near Kilby,

   R.F.D. - her granddaughter Mary Ellen. 

Rather, she was the daughter of William & "Polly" Mary E. ARCHER. 

She 1m. Allen REDD 18 Dec 1856 in Nansemond Co. 

The D.Cert. [1449 (Chuckatuck #2)] of their son Adolphus REDD gives son of 
   Allen REDD & Mary F. PRUDEN, b. 27 Nov 1852, d. 13 Jan 1914. 

She 2m. widower Mills PRUDEN 8 Nov 1870 in Nansemond Co.
