Ripley Funeral Sunday at 2:30 

  CHUCKATUCK - Funeral services for Joseph Lewis Ripley will be conducted 
Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth.  Burial will 
be in Oak Grove Cemetery. 

  Mr. Ripley, 34, died Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at his home in Chuckatuck. 

  He was the husband of Mrs. Roegean Ripley and son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jack 
Ripley of Chuckatuck. 

  He was a native of Portsmouth and was an executive of the old Churchland-
West Norfolk bus line for many years.  At the time of his death he was 
employed by the Gwaltney Packing Co., Smithfield. 

  He was a member of Portsmouth Naval Lodge 100, AF&AM, the Chuckatuck 
Methodist Church and Wesley Chapel of Chuckatuck. 

  Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Wandra Ripley, 
and three sons, William Lewis, Michael Stanley, and Joseph Timothy Ripley; a 
sister, Mrs. Shirley Virginia Suter, all of Chuckatuck, and his maternal 
grandfather, Joseph J. Archer of Portsmouth.
