Mrs. Roberts, 79, Succumbs Here 

  Mrs. Daisy Winborne Roberts, 79, died last night at 9 p.m. at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Brown, 207 South Broad St. after a long illness. 

  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p. m. at the Hill Funeral 
Home by the Rev. B.A. Riddle, pastor of Western Branch Baptist Church and the 
Rev. John Timberlake, pastor of the Suffolk Presbyterian Church.  Burial will 
be in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. 

  A member of Western Branch Baptist Church, she was the widow of Willie Banks 
Roberts and daughter of the late Thomas Parker Winborne and Martha Sarah 
Harrison Winborne of Nansemond County. 

  Besides her daughter, with whom she made her home, she is survived by a son, 
Thomas Harden Roberts of Nansemond County; four sisters, Mrs. M.R. Woodruff of 
Lawrenceville; Mrs. Hettie W. Carter of Littleton, N.C.; Mrs. Lucy W. Doughtie 
of Holland and Mrs. W.R. Byrd of Virginia Beach; four brothers, John T. 
Winborne of Nansemond County; Thomas Parker Winborne Jr., of Portsmouth; A.D. 
Winborne of Richmond and J.S. Winborne of Norfolk; five grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.
