All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Services Held Tuesday For Douglas Robertson Funeral services for Douglas Carroll Robertson, who died Sunday, were conducted yesterday at 8:30 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Clarke A. Wiseman, pastor of Great Fork Baptist Church, and the Rev. Herbert P. Hall, pastor of Whaleyville Methodist Church. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Mr. Wiseman sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and he read the poem "The Eternal Goodness" by John Greenleaf Whittier. The casket was covered with a pall of red carnations and Easter lilies. Pallbearers were Billie Warren, Jack Tripp, Jackie Fowler, Ronnie Matthews, Godwin Jones, Iverson Garrison, Jr., Donald Garrison and Bert Garrison. Classmates of the seventh grade, and Great Fork Baptist Church, and the Royal Ambassadors of the Boy Scout Troop 13, Whaleyville, served as honorary pallbearers.
