Roberts Dies in County Robert Edward Roberts, 81 years of age, a lifelong resident of Nansemond County, died at 11:45 last night at his home near Lake Cohoon, following a long illness. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ava Pruden Roberts; one daughter, Mrs. Harry L. Joyner; two grandchildren, Harry Lee Joyner Jr. and William Edward Joyner; one great-granddaughter, Judy Ann Joyner; one sister, Mrs. J.A. Whitlock; four brothers, C.A. Roberts, Portsmouth; W.J. Roberts, Jacksonville, Florida; S.E. and H.P. Roberts, Nansemond County; a number of nieces and nephews. The body is now at the funeral home of I.O. Hill and company, where funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian church, and the Rev. W.V. Carroll, pastor of Western Branch Baptist church. Interment will be in Bethlehem cemetery.
