Mrs. Minerva Roberts, aged 84, widow of Calvin Roberts, of Isle of Wight county, died today at the home of her son, H.P. Roberts, near Windsor. She is survived by five sons, H.P., S.E. and R.E. Roberts, of Nansemond county; W.J. Roberts, of Jacksonville, Fla., and C.A. Roberts of Portsmouth; a daughter, Mrs. J.A. Whitlock, of Portsmouth; a step-daughter, Mrs. J.M. Underwood, of Isle of Wight, and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Western Branch Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. Sidney Cobb. He was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. A, 59th VA Militia, & Co. A, 14th VA Infantry.
