Rose, of 129 Military Road, died today at 9 a.m. at the Obici Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks. She was 69 years old. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Mahlon Elliott, pastor of Oxford Methodist Church and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Miss Rose was receptionist for the late Dr. F.A. Ward for a number of years and continued as receptionist for Dr. W.A. Seawell until her retirement several years ago. A member of Oxford Methodist Church and the West Bible Class of the church, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Rose and Sarah Celeste Rose of Lasker, N.C. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Edler Rose Ricks of Norfolk; a brother, S.B. Rose of Jackson, N.C., and several nieces and nephews. Among those are Miss Lessie Brown and Miss Elsie Brown of Suffolk and Mr. Jennings Figgatt Sr., of Harrisonburg.
