MARVIN W. RUSSELL 

  ROANOKE -- Marvin Williams [sic*] Russell, 71, of 4915 Showalter Road, N.W., 
died Monday. 

  A native of Whaleyville, he was a son of Christopher Columbus and Mrs. Alice 
Smith Russell. 

  He was a retired farmer and a member of Somerton Methodist Church. 

  Surviving are a son, the Rev. M. Kenneth Russell of Roanoke County; a 
daughter, Mrs. Thelma Russell Blanchard of Huntington, W.Va.; and a sister, 
Mrs. Lucille Russell Brown of Chesapeake. 

  The body is being sent today from Lota Funeral Home to R.W. Baker & Co. 
Funeral Home, Suffolk, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 
p.m. by the Rev. Tommy T. Markham of Somerton Methodist Church.  Burial will 
be in Russell family cemetery.

His parents are also buried there. 

His WW-II draft card also gives Marvin Williams. 

D.Cert. 72-023254 also gives Marvin Williams.  It gives his wife as Elizabeth 
   (HOLLOWELL) RUSSELL, although they div. in 1948; the informant was his son. 

His widow Lucy Ellen (WARD HARRISON) RUSSELL (1898 - 1973) is buried in 
   Reynoldson Baptist Church Cemetery, Gates Co., NC. 

Delayed B.Cert. 57-005373 gives Marvin William. 

Both his marriage records give Marvin William.
