She was born in Sussex County. [sic*] She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, and the women’s fellowship of the church, and also was a member of Suffolk Women’s Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sarah R. Collins of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a son, George E. Rogers, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Hughes of Richmond, Mrs. Doris Murphy of Wakefield, and Mrs. Clarice Kotz of Suffolk; two brothers, Joseph Brittle of Newport News, and Samuel Brittle of Wakefield; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sidney F. Harrell, Funeral Home, Suffolk by the Rev. Robert B. Marr. Burial will follow in Liberty Spring Christian Church Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
