BURWELL ALLEN RIDDICK 

  [dingbat] We regret to announce the death of Burwell Riddick, Esq., at his 
residence in Beaufort county, N.C., on Friday last.  Mr. Riddick was formerly 
a prominent citizen of this county, and for many years a member of the Court 
of Nansemond.  He has several children and other near relatives living here, 
with whom we deeply sympathize.  He was about 64 years of age, and leaves a 
young wife and 1 child, in North Carolina.

b. 1796, d. 25 Jun 1859, at home, Beaufort Co., NC, 
interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block D, Lot 71*), Suffolk,

His sister Mourning Smith RIDDICK (1808 - 1873) is buried in Block C, Lot 24.

   Confederate veteran David B. CURRY; they are also buried in the same lot:

Their son Burwell's D.Cert. 30-006665 (Suffolk #51) states he & both parents 
   were b. in Pantego, Beaufort Co., NC.
