MARY ANN PARKER RIDDICK 

  Suffolk, Oct. 16. - Mrs. Mary A. Riddick, widow of the late James Riddick 
of this city, died at her home on Bank street this afternoon in the 79th year 
of her age.  Mrs. Riddick, who was Miss Mary Parker, was a native of Nansemond 
county, but had made her home in Suffolk for the past 34 years.  She is 
survived by two sons, Edward Riddick of Norfolk, and Milton Riddick of 
Suffolk, two daughters, Miss Ida Riddick and Mrs. A. Milter, four 
grandchildren, W. R. Milter, Harry D. and Willie E. Milter, and Gertie E. 
Brinkley.  Four great-grandchildren, Dorothy, Hazel, Walter and Rosa Lee 
Milter.  The funeral services will be held at the grave in Cedar Hill 
cemetery, Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

D.Cert. 25255 (Suffolk #52) gives daughter of Lazarus & Phalicia (BEAMAN) 
   RIDDICK. 

Her marriage record (Nansemond Co. 1855 #2) also gives her father as Lazarus. 

Rather, her father seems to have been Dawson C. PARKER (b. ca. 1813). 
   "Philicia" (Mrs. Dawson C.) PARKER d. 24 Jul 1872 of cancer, age 62 
   (Nansemond Co. D.Reg. #2).  The family appears in the 1850 Census in 
   Nansemond Co. 

Mary's husband (1819 - 1883) was a Confederate veteran, having served in the 
   Commissary Dept. for four years.
