In our obituary column this week, we announce with sincere regret, the death of one of the most estimable women in Suffolk, a personal friend, a faithful member of our charge, and a pillar in the Christian Church. Mrs. Mary Ann Riddick, the amiable consort of Capt. Willis S. Riddick, breathed her last, after an illness of only one week, on the morning of the 21st inst. Our acquaintance with the departed one oommenced when she was a cheerful, light hearted girl, of fourteen years. She was converted under our ministry at the age of sixteen years, was by us received into the Church, buried with Christ in baptism and admitted to the Sacramental table, and we have sustained the relation of pastor to her for twenty-five years. And with confidence we can say, that we have never known one possessing a sweeter temper, one more amiable in disposition, more gentle in spirit, more forbearing, more forgiving and devoutly pious - a dutiful child, an affectionate wife, an indulgent mother, and a true friend. Of the poor and needy, she was always mindful. A larger number of persons were present at her funeral, than we have ever seen together on any similar occasion in Suffolk. All classes assembled to show their esteem and love for her. Our sister will be greatly missed in her church, in her family and in the community. She was the eldest daughter of our friend and Brother, Jethro Riddick, at Cypresrs Chapel. We would extend the hand of sympathy, and mingle our tears of sorrow, with those of her husband and children, her venerable parents, brothers and sisters, and her numerous friends. When the good die, how great is the loss which the world sustains! How great the loss which a community sustains! How great the loss to the Church! One after another, of our little flock in Suffolk, is being transferred from the church on earth to the church in heaven. How solemn is the admonition which it brings to the living to be ready when the Master shall call to appear before Him, spotless and pure! ****************************************************************************** DIED, In Suffolk, on the morning of the 21st inst., Mrs. Mary Ann Riddick, wife of Willis S.
