Rogers, a prominent farmer of Nansemond County, died this morning at 1:30 o’clock, after a long illness at his home near Cypress Chapel, age 72 years. He is survived by three sons, S. L. Rogers, of Suffolk, J.T. Rogers of Cypress Chapel, Va., and S.M. Rogers, of Greensboro, N.C., also two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Irving Truitt, of Suffolk, Va., Mrs. R.C. Norfleet, of Nansemond County, and Miss Georgia Rogers, of Capron, Va., two brothers, J.T. Rogers, of Whaleyville, and R.E. Rogers, of Cypress Chapel, Va., also several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Whaleyville Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. J.S. Maxey, Rev. J.R. Taylor and Dr. I.W. Johnson. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
