Rogers*, wife of L.A. Rogers, died today at her home near Myrtle in the 64th year of her age, after a brief illness of just one week. Her son, Sidney M. Rogers, had been home from France just ten days when his mother passed away. The deceased is survived by three sons, S.L. Rogers, J.T. Rogers and Sidney M. Rogers, the soldier son just home from France; four sisters, Mrs. Rob Ashburn, Mrs. P.J. Powell and Mrs. Mittie Darden of Myrtle, Mrs. C.G. Nelms, of Newport News; two brothers, W. J. and Sam Simons of Myrtle. Mrs. Rogers was one of the best known women of her section and had taken important part in the social, church and educational life of the community and her death will be a loss to the community. The funeral services will be held at Whaleyville Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. Mr. Lowe.
