Rogers, a prominent citizen of Nansemond County, died last night at 9 o’clock at his home near Bethlehem Church, after a lingering illness of several months. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ava V. Rogers; two sisters, Mrs. M. E. Steinhardt, of Holland, Va.; and Miss Emma Rogers, of Portsmouth; and two brothers, Ben Rogers, of Whaleyville, Va., and G.W. Rogers, of Holland, Va. The funeral services will be held Monday at Liberty Spring Church at 2 p.m. and will be conducted by Rev. H.H. Butler, assisted Dr. I.W. Johnson and Dr. W.W. Staley. The following friends have been asked to act as pallbearers; Active, Walter Rogers, Bennie Rogers, W.J. Rawles, V.E. Rawles, Randall Gardner, Sr., and A.T. Sheffield; honorary, Dr. C.W.
