He was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly Rawls and son of Mrs. J.D. Rawls of Franklin. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and a retired supervisor from the Naval Air Station where he was employed for 22 years. His other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. John E. Tatem of Norfolk, Mrs. Herbert Saunders of Franklin Mrs. Byrum Todd of Deray Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Patrick Kelly of Woodstock. ****************************************************************************** EDGAR ELVERY RAWLS NORFOLK - A graveside funeral service for Edgar Elvery Rawls was conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins of the Franklin Baptist Church. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk was in charge. Pallbearers were David White, John Tatem, Henry Shea, Pat Kelly Jr., Julian Daughtrey and Emory C. Causey. Rawls, 61 of 5388 e. Princess Anne Road, died Wednesday in a Petersburg hospital. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly Rawls and a son of Mrs. Lillie Howell Rawls of Franklin and the late John D. Rawls. He retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station as a supervisor after 22 years. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Besides his widow and mother, surviving are four sisters, Mrs. John E. Tatem of Norfolk, Mrs. Herbert Saunders of Franklin, Mrs. Byron Todd of Delray Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Patrick H. Kelly of Woodstock.
