RAWLS SAVAGE CROSSING CHRONICLES AUGUST 21. - Our community is very much grieved by the sad death of Miss Myrtle E. Rawls, who, after an illness of several weeks’ duration, passed away on Friday, August 17, 1900, at 7 o’clock p.m., as calmly as if falling to sleep. The deceased had been a great sufferer, but everything an attentive physician, a devoted family and kind friends could do was done for her restoration. No sadder affliction has befallen this community in some time than the death of this lovable young lady. Miss Rawls was noted for her excellent qualities, and it is a noteworthy fact that in all of her visitations and in social gatherings she was never known to speak evil of any one. She will be greatly missed, not only at her home, but in the neighborhood. She leaves a devoted father and mother, four brothers and one sister to mourn their great loss. Rev. B.F. Black conducted the funeral services in a very impressive manner, in the presence of a large number of friends, and her body was laid to rest in Liberty Spring Cemetery to await the resurrection of the righteous. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. [SCHS Liberty Springs Cemetery list gives Myrtie E. Rawles, 6/25/1880-8/17/1900, daughter of John T. & Susan Byrd Rawles] [Myrtle E.
