Rawles, of Holland, died this afternoon at 1 o’clock, after an illness of four weeks. She was a member of an old Nansemond County family and was the daughter of Dixon H. Holland and Mary Eliza Sumner Holland. Besides her husband, J.T. Rawles, she is survived by seven sons, I.L. Rawles, of Portsmouth; Emmett H., Henry, and Richard Rawles, of Suffolk; Sumner, Ernest and Julius Rawles, of Holland; a daughter, Mrs. J.T. Jones, of Holland; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Councill, of Portsmouth, and a brother, Jethro Holland, of Holland; 11 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rawles was until a few weeks ago an active member of Holy Neck Christian Church, and took part in all of the church work, and was a member of the women’s societies of the church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Holland Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. N.G. Newman, the Rev. Dr. W.M. Jay, of Holland, and the Rev. Dr. John G. Truitt, of Suffolk. The body will be brought to Suffolk for burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mary Dixon Sumner (HOLLAND; Mrs. Julius T.)
