All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Rites Tomorrow For John Spivey Funeral services for John Nurney Spivey, 60, of Suffolk, Route 1, who died yesterday afternoon at 5 p.m. at the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, after an illness of two days, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home. Dr. Jesse H. Dollar, pastor of the Liberty Spring Christian Church and the Rev. Fred Wright, of the Damascus Christian Church, Sunbury, North Carolina, will officate at the services. Interment will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Hobbs Spivey, of Gates County, North Carolina and the late Henry Spivey. Other than his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gracie Eure Spivey, of Nansemond County; two daughters, Mrs. Jacob C. Forrester, Jr., of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Thurman Bain, of Gatesville, North Carolina; three sons, Frank E. Spivey, of Frederick, Maryland, Chester Spivey, of Washington, D.C., and Fletcher Spivey, of Hobbsville, North Carolina; two brothers, Curtis Spivey, of Gatesville and Walter Spivey, of Hobbsville; seven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
