Spivey, aged 66, well-known Nansemond county farmer, was found dead to an easy-chair at his home near Milner's, Chuckatuck district, when members of the family arose early today. Mr. Spivey had been in declining health for several months. Failing to sleep well last night he sat in his easy-chalr and dozed. He had been dead several hours when found. Surviving Mr. Spivey are his widow, and five children: two daughters, Mrs. Dudley Saunders of Nansemond county and Mrs. I.C. Baker, of Norfolk; three sons, O.B. Spivey, Newport News; E.F. and L.P. Spivey, Portsmouth; two brothers, John Spivey, Messick, and Charlie Spivey, Seven Swings, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Joe E. Crumpler, Windsor. The body was brought to the funeral home of R.W. Baker & Co., Suffolk, where it will remain until Wednesday at 1:30 when the funeral cortege will depart for Beaver Dam Baptist church, where final rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. I.W. Johnson, assisted by the Rev. Garland T. Moore. Burial will be in the Beaver Dam cemetery.
