SAVAGE Suffolk, Jan. 30. - Thomas W. Savage, a prominent man of Suffolk and for many years a merchant here, died last night at his home in West End, after a short illness of a few hours. Mr. Savage was stricken with apoplexy at 3 o'clock yesterday and lived for about six hours. He was 70 years of age. Mr. Savage was a native of the county, and for many years lived at Savage Crossing, in the county, which was called for his family. He is survived by his widow; one son, J. Frank Savage; two daughters, Mrs. T.E. Porter and Mrs. J.E. Corbett, and a granddaughter who had made her home with him, Mrs. M.M. Reynolds, now of Norfolk. Mr. Savage is the last of the charter members of the Liberty Spring Christian church. The funeral services will be held Friday morning at the Christian church, at 11 o'clock, by Rev. Dr. I.W. Johnson, assisted by Rev. Dr. W.W. Staley and Rev. G.F. Greene. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery.
