Mrs. Mary J. Speight

  Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jones Speight, 86, of 603 Turlington Road died Monday at 
1:45 a.m. in Crozer Chester Medical Center, Chester, Pa. 

  A native of Gates County, N.C., she was the widow of John Harvey Speight Sr. 
and a daughter of William Thomas and Mrs. Mary Scott Jones. 

  She was a member of Bethlehem Congregational Christian Church and its Ladies 
Star Bible Class, Woman's Fellowship, and Bethlehem Fellowship Club. 

  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. O.L. Moore Sr. of Nansemond, Mrs. A.B. 
Glaus of Brookhaven, Pa., and Mrs. Joseph A. Savage of Whaleyville; two sons, 
Harvey T. Speight of Nansemond and J.H. Speight Jr. of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. 
Hattie Jones Brickle of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; and seven great-
grandchildren. 

  A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Bethlehem 
Congregational Christian Church by Dr. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. William A. 
Grissou.  Burial will be in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. 

  The family will be at the home of Mrs. O.L. Moore Sr. of 1305 Holland Road. 

  The body will arrive in Suffolk tonight and be taken to I.O. Hill & Co. 
Funeral Home.
